Today’s blog post is all about a nifty little multi-functional product that has rapidly gained somewhat of a cult following and
status among beauty lovers and make up artists alike.

Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips |
Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips is a multi-functional
balm which can be used to moisturize the lips, nipples, cuticles, elbows and
feet. Interestingly, it can also be used
as a lip primer, eyebrow gel and a dewy cream eye shadow.
Dr.Lipp Nipple Balm is 100% natural and hypoallergenic. It’s also odorless and tasteless. It reminds me a lot of the Elizabeth Arden 8
hour cream because of similarities in the texture and colour but without the signature
scent and it’s also far less sticky.

Dr.Lipp Nipple Balm can be used as a lip primer to good
effect. Lipstick will always apply
better to moisturised lips than dry lips but it’s a fine line creating the
correct balance between enough moisture and too much moisture. Too much moisture or balm will only encourage
lipstick to slide off the lips, reducing staying power as well as making the
texture and coverage sheerer than what may be preferred. Dr.Lipp Nipple Balm provides a long lasting
base for lipstick. It can be used to
best effect when applied to the lips and then left to soak in for a little while before blotting away any excess with a tissue and then applying lipstick
on top.
Dr.Lipp Nipple Balm is also a good choice for taming and
setting eyebrows with. This is
especially effective if you have fuller and thicker eyebrows. If you are a fan of the dewy eyelid look, Dr.Lipp
Nipple Balm can also be used to great effect.
You can also use the balm as a concentrated under eye treatment to
reduce fine lines and wrinkles. If you
have dry chapped hands you can also mix a drop of Dr.Lipp Nipple Balm with
three drops of lavender oil for an intensive overnight hand treatment.

Dr.Lipp Nipple Balm is a great little multi-tasking product. It only has one ingredient: Medical Grade Lanolin.
So what is Lanolin and why is it so special? The truth is quite surprising and according
to the Dr. Lipp website:
“The oils and waxes
sheep naturally produce to protect their fleece are scientifically known to be
the most similar to our own human skin oils.
For centuries these oils and waxes have helped man protect and soften
our skin.
Dr. Lipp’s formula is
made from the same natural oils and waxes processed and purified to a medical standard
of purity and cleanliness, removing all environmental pollutants.
The process
goes a little bit like this. First the
sheep’s fleece is carefully shorn during the summer months which is essential
to maintaining the sheep's overall health and well-being. The collected wool is then washed bringing
all the natural oils and waxes to the surface.
This is lanolin in its raw form.”
So, there you go this product is made from the naturally occurring oils found in sheep's wool which is quite unusual! It’s also exciting to find a natural product that's so effective
with only one ingredient. Dr.Lipp Nipple Balm is a very popular product among people in ‘the know’ but it’s a shame that the general population don’t know
more about Dr. Lipp Nipple Balm. This
could in part be down to the fact that it’s only stocked by a handful of retailers
here in the UK. Medical Grade Lanolin is perhaps better known here in the UK in the form of the Lanolips 101 Ointment which is a
similar product but more widely available.
Dr.Lipp Nipple Balm retails at around £11.50 for a handy travel sized 15 ml tube. Dr. Lipp have a really funky website which you can check out here.
