Wantable is a subscription box service that is already very popular over in the States and now it's being launched here in the UK very soon!
There are actually three different types of Wantable boxes available: makeup, accessories and intimates (tights, vest tops, socks, etc). They all contain premium brand 'boutique' products that look amazing!
I'm so pleased that Wantable recently contacted me and gave me the wonderful opportunity to try and review their January Makeup Box. And now I'm ready to share my thoughts on it with you guys!
Edit: WANTABLE is NOW shipping to the UK!
What's in my January Wantable Makeup Box?
FACE Stockholm - Pot Gloss - Simplicity - $19
This is a lovely lip gloss and not really something that I would have normally tried as for the price, it's almost the same to buy a MAC lipstick! However, Face Stockholm is a cult, high end beauty brand and this pot gloss is really very nice. The shade 'Simplicity' is a lovely reddish-brown nude shade with very glossy finish. The pigmentation is really good and it isn't sticky at all which is great. It actually feels a lot more like a lip balm than a lip gloss and seems to be quite moisturizing. It's great worn alone or it can also be used on top of a matte lipstick to add some shine. It definitely gives that en vogue 'wet lips' look!
Girlactik Beauty - Glam Eye Powder - Nude Glam - $17
There are some great products in this Wantable box but the glam eye powder has got to be my personal favorite! My pictures don't really do it justice, but when it's on the eyelids, this is beautiful. Even my boyfriend commented on how nice my eye shadow looked when I was first wearing it! It is a lovely color, I would say almost a little rose gold toned, and it gives a gorgeous shimmer. It can be used over a pearl base, blended in with your favorite neutral eye shadow or applied just to the inner part of the lid for added shine and dimension. I've been really enjoying wearing this over my e.l.f pearl eyeshadow primer and it creates such a versatile eye look that can easily be dressed up or down! The texture of this is also amazing, to say it's a loose powder there is virtually zero fallout! It feels so buttery and creamy and seems to melt as soon as you touch it. I love this and have been wearing it pretty much everyday since I first tried (and fell in love) with it!
Sorme Brow Lift - Brow Highlighting Pencil - $16
I love highlighting my brow bone and I normally use something with a bit of shimmer or sparkle in because I have plenty of shimmery eye shadows and highlighters in my makeup collection. This Sorme Brow Highlighting Pencil is a really nice change for me as it's probably the first time I've used a non-shimmery, matte cream highlighter on my brow bone. It creates a really subtle, soft and natural look but it's still really effective at enhancing and lifting the look of the brow bone. It's a really blendable formula and it could also make a nice inner corner highlight or all over eyeshadow base. This feels like a really professional product and the results are very subtle but entirely flattering.
ncLA Nail Lacquer - Nail Lacquer - Laurel Canyon Lolita - $16
This luxury nail polish is from fashionable US brand ncLA. This shade is from the North of Sunset Collection and is described as a beautiful, sexy and grown up take on Fuchsia. It doesn't contain nasty ingredients like DBP, Toulene, Formaldehyde, Camphor and it isn't tested on animals either. So this is definitely a trendy brand with a conscience!
Eveline - Eveline Eyeliner Marker - $10.99
This eye liner from Eveline is a really pigmented black liquid eyeliner with great staying power. The pen has a really fine tip which is super flexible and makes it easy to create precise lines and cat eye flicks. It's really easy to use and a great tip is to dot out a little guide line first of where you want your eyeliner to go and then simply join the dots together like a dot to dot puzzle!
There are already some really good beauty box subscription services around but I've always thought it was a shame that most beauty boxes aren't personalized and that they mostly contain sample products.
I feel like
the Wantable makeup box could be just the thing to fill this gap in the
beauty subscription market as it's perfect for those of us who love
trying new makeup and who want to receive 4-5 full sized boutique
products every month.
